During the GPT-5 launch, I was in a room with a low internet connection. While moving a chat into a project folder — boom — GPT stopped working.
After refreshing the page, all my chats were gone forever. Probably an API bug (I’m a developer, I know these things can happen), but it was still a very bad day.
Fortunately, I had an export from earlier, so I could recover some information — but many conversations were lost.
The real problem: GPT doesn’t have an actual “snapshot” system to restore chats.
Yes, I can export chats, but:

I can’t restore lost chats from an export (no “import back to GPT” option)

Exporting is not a real backup or snapshot — it’s useless if you only think about it after something goes wrong
My suggestion: add an automatic snapshot/backup system with a simple “Restore to yesterday” or “Restore to last available date” button.
This would save a lot of frustration in case of bugs, connection drops, or accidental deletion.
