Subject: Proposal for “Good Ideas Hub” – A Feature to Elevate User Innovation on ChatGPT
Hi,
I’m reaching out to propose a feature I believe aligns closely with OpenAI’s mission to responsibly scale AI’s positive impact: a built-in system within ChatGPT (or any AI platform) that helps surface and develop good, original ideas from users—and gives them the option to take them further or share them with a wider community.
The Concept:
Call it the Good Ideas Hub.
Whenever a user says something novel or insightful, ChatGPT would respond:
“That’s a great idea. Would you like to continue developing it yourself, or would you prefer to submit it to the Good Ideas Hub, where people with relevant knowledge might pick it up and help it grow?”
From there, users could:
- Continue building the idea privately with ChatGPT’s help, or
- Submit it to a shared, curated space (eventually visible to researchers, developers, educators, and social innovators)
This small interaction would turn ChatGPT into more than just a tool—it becomes a pipeline for real-world problem solving.
Why This Matters:
ChatGPT already acts as a catalyst for creativity, innovation, and critical thinking. But most of that potential disappears when the session ends. This feature could:
- Help democratize invention
- Amplify underrepresented voices with great ideas but limited reach
- Create a network of “crowd-sourced genius” without requiring people to self-promote or seek credit
- Align with OpenAI’s core goal of deploying AI that benefits humanity broadly
I don’t need recognition for the idea—I just want to see it built. If this feature exists in some form already or is being considered, fantastic. If not, I’d be grateful if you’d pass it along to the person or team best positioned to evaluate it.
Thank you for your time and for building something that gives people a voice and a chance to think bigger.
Warmly,
Ken Bragg
