Feedback: we need a critical feature to manage the chatbots

Hello there,
As the GPTs become more interesting and more powerful, i think that it would be nice to have more options to “transfer” the ownership and management of the chatbot.

As a freelancer, i’m often asked to develop internal chatbot for my clients: GPTs are the quickest way to deploy such a feature.

Unfortunaly i cannot “transfer” the ownership of the GPT (i think): if i create it under my account, it will always be “mine”, i can only keep it “unlisted” and give the url to the client.

There are pro and cons:

  • pros: i’ve got ownership. I can only lease the chatbot. I have total control over the configuration.
  • cons: the client cannot access the configuration or the knowledge. If they need to update the knowledge, they have to wait for me to have time to update it.

More granularity

this is just a proposal, but there could be 2 more options:

1. Transfer ownership: all the righs and files are migrated into another account.
2. Establish co-ownership: you retain ownership, but the client can upgrade the knowledge or the configuration.

What do you think ?

Hey, this exists, and is a feature within the Teams subscription, it allows you to share the ownership with other members in your workspace.

I know, but that’s not the case i was describing.

  • Let’s say i’m an indipendent consultant with my own account.
  • I “develop” a GPT for a client who has hired me.
  • The contract between the parts states that the GPT has to be moved to the client account inside their own workspace account.
  • If my account is not inside the client organization, i can’t do that, right ?

Correct.

Therefore we, indipendent consultants and freelancers, need more sharing options
