Feature Request: Pause Button for ChatGPT Conversations

Hello!

I’m a regular user of ChatGPT and I have a suggestion to improve the user experience. Right now, I often find myself needing to pause or come back to my conversation later, especially when I’m juggling tasks. A simple pause button in the interface could help users to temporarily stop the conversation, and when they return, they could continue from where they left off.

The ability to take a break from a conversation and return later, with the chat state preserved, would make the interaction much more flexible and user-friendly. It would be great if this could be added as an optional feature.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this idea. Thank you!

I like this idea, and it would be nice if it was voice activated. I frequently start advance voice mode w/ head phones on and walk away from my computer/iPhone. If I don’t say something for a few minutes, advance voice mode closes, and I have to go back to my computer to restart it. Would be nice if I could say something like “let’s pause here” and have the chat suspend until I say something like “okay, I’m back.”
