I’m an independent artist, songwriter and rapper, and ChatGPT is already a major part of my creative process.
I use it to develop lyrics, song concepts, structure, production ideas, visual direction and release content.
The one thing that still makes me leave ChatGPT is music and video generation.
What I would love is not just another “Generate” button, but native music and video creation directly inside the conversation.
For example, after spending time developing a song with ChatGPT, I want to be able to simply say:
“Okay. Now let me hear it.”
And then continue conversationally:
“Make the drums harder.”
“Change only the chorus.”
“Make the second verse more rap-driven.”
“Now create a visual for the first scene of the music video.”
The biggest advantage would be context.
ChatGPT already understands the lyrics, references, mood, structure and creative direction we developed together. I wouldn’t need to start over in another app and explain everything again.
For independent artists, the workflow could become:
Idea → Lyrics → Beat → Demo → Cover Art → Video / Reels → Release Content
All inside the same conversation.
I think this could be one of ChatGPT’s strongest advantages compared with other AI platforms: not just generating media, but generating it with the full context of the creative process.
Long term, this could even evolve into something like a ChatGPT Creative Studio or ChatGPT Music Studio.
But the core feature I would love to see is simple:
Native music and video generation inside ChatGPT, with conversational editing.
Would other artists use this too?
