I would like to propose a policy refinement regarding image generation involving public figures.

My intention is not to reduce OpenAI’s safety protections, but to suggest a distinction that I believe could better support professional artists while preserving those protections.

This proposal does not seek to weaken OpenAI’s safety protections.

Instead, it recommends distinguishing traditional fine art from photorealistic imagery when evaluating image requests involving public figures.

I believe this distinction would better support professional artists while preserving OpenAI’s existing safeguards against deception, identity misuse, and misinformation.
