Feature request: Existing chats should be splittable into separate conversations

In longer conversations, several distinct topics often emerge over time. At present, it does not appear to be possible to retrospectively extract a specific range of messages from an existing chat and turn it into a separate conversation.

A “Split chat” function would be very useful here:

  • Select the start and end points of a section
  • Choose “Split off as new chat”
  • Transfer all messages within that range in full and in chronological order
  • Leave the original chat unchanged
  • Continue the new chat independently

Ideally, it should also be possible to split a conversation at multiple points.

Example: A long chat initially deals with topic A, then moves on to topic B, and later to topic C. The user could subsequently turn these into three separate chats without having to manually copy content or perform a data export.

The existing “Branch in new chat” function is not a complete substitute for this, as it primarily allows the user to continue a conversation from a particular point onward. What is needed instead is a retrospective editorial splitting of an already existing conversation.
