Please forward this proposal to the ChatGPT product team and to the attention of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
My name is Antonio Baldino. I am an Italian author, and I use ChatGPT to develop books, economic studies, and extensive technical documents.
I would like OpenAI to introduce a simple and clearly visible “SAVE AS” function.
It should allow users to:
- Assign a precise title to a conversation.
- Save the complete conversation word for word, including every question and answer.
- Preserve images, tables, documents, captions, and attachments.
- Export the complete conversation directly to Word and PDF while preserving its original chronological order and formatting.
- Save the resulting document in the ChatGPT Library, where it remains clearly visible and easy to reopen.
- Use a clear filename based on the date and subject.
- Confirm that the save was completed successfully.
This would be especially valuable for authors, researchers, professionals, students, elderly users, and anyone developing long and complex projects. At present, important work can become difficult to find, reconstruct, or export completely. A reliable “SAVE AS” command would protect users’ work and make ChatGPT a stronger professional tool.
If we can help improve the technical experience for the common good, I would be very happy. Progress is the path of always trying to do better.
Thank you for your attention.
