I would like to suggest an intermediate ChatGPT subscription tier, around $50–60/month, between Plus and Pro.
My usage pattern does not fit the current pricing structure very well. ChatGPT Plus is sufficient for me most of the time, but around 3–4 times per month I have intensive work sessions involving advanced reasoning models, long-context research, presentations, documents, and multi-step analysis. During those periods, I can hit the Plus usage limits fairly quickly.
However, upgrading to the $100 Pro tier is difficult to justify because I do not need that level of usage every day. Purchasing additional credits also feels poor value for this occasional intensive usage pattern.
I would be very willing to pay around $50–60/month for an intermediate “Pro Mini” tier offering, for example:
- Approximately 2–3× the high-end usage allowance of Plus;
- Access to the same high-end models as Pro, but with lower weekly/monthly quotas;
- Higher Work / research / document-processing allowances;
- Priority compute similar to Pro during heavy work sessions.
I believe there is a meaningful group of professional and power users in this gap: people for whom Plus is insufficient during occasional intensive sessions, but who cannot justify $100/month.
An intermediate tier could capture users who currently remain on Plus and stop using the product when they hit their limits, rather than upgrading. Lower quotas than full Pro could preserve a reason for heavy daily users to choose the higher tiers.
Personally, I would subscribe to a $50–60 tier if it provided roughly 2–3× the high-end usage allowance of Plus.
