Overview
I would like to propose a new ChatGPT feature called Community AI, a community space where users can discover, share, and interact with AI experiences created by other users.
Currently, users can share conversations, but I envision a more interactive experience: users could create an AI with a defined personality, communication style, role, and set of instructions, then choose whether to keep it private, share it through a link, or publish it in a public discovery space.
Other users could chat directly with these published AI creations without gaining access to the creator’s private conversations or account.
Key Features
1. Public and Private Modes
Users can choose between:

Link sharing: People with permission to access the link can interact with the AI.

Public discovery: The AI appears in a searchable community directory.
2. Creator Lock
Creators can lock their original AI configuration, including its personality, instructions, role, and communication style. Visitors can chat with the AI but cannot modify the original configuration.
3. Independent Conversations
Every visitor receives a separate conversation history. Interactions from visitors do not alter the creator’s original chat history, saved memories, or private information.
4. Discover and Explore
A dedicated Community AI section would allow users to search and explore AI creations by category, popularity, and purpose, such as education, creative writing, roleplay, language learning, and productivity.
5. Optional Copying and Customization
If the creator permits it, visitors could create their own copies of a published AI and customize those copies without changing the original.
Privacy and Safety
Public AI creations should only expose the configurations and content that their creators explicitly approve. Private conversation histories, personal memories, uploaded files, and account information should remain inaccessible to visitors.
The feature should also include reporting tools, content moderation, creator controls, and the ability to unpublish or delete an AI.
Benefits
Community AI could encourage creativity, make personalized AI experiences easier to discover, support learning and entertainment, and help users learn from each other’s ideas.
It would expand ChatGPT beyond sharing static conversation snapshots into a platform where users can share interactive AI experiences while retaining control over their original creations.
