I need a clear answer regarding token limits when upgrading to ChatGPT Pro.
I started a chat with GPT-4o as a Plus user (32k token limit).
If I upgrade to Pro (which supposedly has a 128k token limit for GPT-4o), will this existing chat benefit from the increased token capacity?
Or does the 128k token limit only apply to new chats started after the upgrade?
OpenAI support has given me contradictory answers. In one response, they said that existing GPT-4o chats will extend to 128k tokens after upgrading. In another response, they said that only new chats will get the 128k limit, while old chats remain locked at their original limit.
I need a definitive answer before deciding whether to upgrade.
If anyone has upgraded from Plus to Pro and tested this, please let me know your experience. I would really appreciate any clarity on this!
