Documentation and implementation of Open AI's new Codex model

Hi,

I am looking to evaluate open AI’s new codex model, but I am not able to find any documentation around it. As I understand, codex is a model like gpt-o etc. Also, I believe there should be some documentation around the bench marking of the code assistant against other assistants, I could not locate that as well.

I have referred - Developer quickstart - OpenAI API but could not find anything on Codex.

I have followed few resources online mentioning that Codex has been deprecated and oepn AI now promotes gpt model.
The landing page is also dated for as - OpenAI Codex | OpenAI 2021

Requesting guidance.

Yeah, that looks misleading. Isn’t “Canvas” considered the code cutting product now?

Perhaps that page should be taken down?

Codex models, which were accessible through the completions endpoint, have been discontinued since March 2023 on the OpenAI API.

Even the completions endpoint is considered legacy.

The codex models have likely been retired by now, with gpt-4o as the recommended replacement, as per the documentation.

The page you referenced is not the landing page but a newsroom release from 2021.
