Hello!
I received an email asking me to re-verify my Daybreak Blue access.
So far, I’ve gone through the verification process about three times. Each time, the flow completed successfully and showed “Done” at the end. However, immediately afterward, I was shown the following message under Trusted Access for Cyber:
“Your identity couldn’t be verified or your account is ineligible at this time. If you think this is a mistake, please contact support.”
After several attempts, I can no longer restart the verification process at all. I now receive:
“We couldn’t start verification. You may not be eligible for this verification flow right now. Please try again later, or contact support if you think this is a mistake.”
TL;DR
Previously approved access → access removed due to the confirmed technical issue → re-verification requested by OpenAI → verification completed three times but resulted in an eligibility/verification failure → verification flow is now completely blocked.
P.S. I also contacted support, but the support bot refuses to provide a case/ticket number. Subscription is Pro x5
I am another Daybreak Blue user who was previously approved but caught up in the August incident. As a cybersecurity lecturer and researcher at a UK university, I had already completed the Trusted Access for Cyber verification and was fully approved for defensive work before OpenAI removed my access during their system glitch.
On 19 August, OpenAI emailed me to confirm that the loss of access was an issue on their end and instructed me to reapply. Since then, I simply have not been able to restore my trusted access status.
This is not just a minor account inconvenience for me. I use ChatGPT for legitimate, authorised university teaching and research in cybersecurity. Without Trusted Access to reduce the friction, I am constantly hitting security refusals on completely benign and clearly authorised work.
I have tried sorting this out with OpenAI Support, but there seems to be no actual way to restore my prior approval or get the verification outcome reviewed.
My case follows the exact same frustrating pattern: I was previously approved, lost access due to an acknowledged technical issue on OpenAI’s side, was told to reverify, and now have no reliable path back to my approved state.
