Custom GPT Public to Private

I have created a custom GPT using Create GPT and set it to ‘Public’ and few users start using it, then later I changed it to ‘Private.’

Can you please advice:

  1. Is it searchable, usable since was once public by the few users who originally tried it out?

  2. Are their chats still avaliable to them using the GPT, can they continute using the original thread, if not closed or deleted?

  3. Can they share the link to the GPT with others?

All good questions. Have you tested anything yourself yet? Do you have another person with a ChatGPT account that could test?

Hopefully someone with a bit more Custom GPT knowledge can pitch in.

We tested with 3 users.

Image1:

  • In first prompt GPT was public, and first prompt worked.
  • In second prompt GPT was private, and second prompt did not work. So, user cannot continue to chat.

Image2:

  • After private mode, GPT’s link has been given another user, and GPT was inaccessible or not found.

Image3:

  • Also, after private mode, on search bar GPT is invisible.
