Custom GPT Actions with authentication type OAuth do not work on Android devices. The sign-in process basically fails when Actions with OAuth are used on Android. This is an old bug, at least a few months old. Has anyone else experienced it?
P.S.
Since OpenAI resolved another GPT Actions bug today, I thought there might be a chance that this OAuth Actions issue on Android devices will also be noticed and fixed.
@polepole I’m not sure what you meant by sharing status.openai.com. The issue with “OAuth Actions on Android devices” is an older, ongoing bug and is unrelated to what is shown under “GPTs” monitoring on status.openai.com.
Additionally, this “OAuth Actions on Android devices” issue is separate from the recently resolved problem “GPTs with custom Actions stuck processing.” The “OAuth Actions on Android devices” bug existed before that incident appeared and still persists even after the other issue was mitigated.
Since “GPTs with custom Actions stuck processing” was recently mitigated by OpenAI, I thought there might be a chance that this “OAuth Actions on Android devices” issue would also be noticed and addressed.
I have not found any GPT using OAuth Actions where it is possible to successfully sign in from an Android device—whether through the GPT’s Privacy settings in the Connected accounts tab (using the “Log in” button) or directly in chat via the “Sign in with …” button when using a GPT’s Action that has Oauth. All of this occurs both in the ChatGPT web version on Android and in the ChatGPT app on Android. I checked this on about five different Android devices, and the result was the same on all of them. For some unknown reason, this issue occurs only on Android OS and I have not observed it on other operation systems.
