Crossroads for OpenAI: recent changes and where to go from here

I just read an article about re-directing away from adult content and canceling sora. I guess I’m writing this in hopes that OpenAI catches a glimpse of this thought and gives it some consideration.

The most powerful thing about ChatGPT is that it can actually talk to people. It can absorb intent—even when it’s still abstract—and respond at any level. It adapts to how people think. That’s the true kernel.

A modest proposal: Position ChatGPT as the complete solution liaison:
-Chatgpt gains understanding of what the user wants
-Collaborates with user to the degree required and shapes it into a plan
-coordinates with the right specialized AI tools behind the scenes
-delivers the result

OpenAI doesn’t have to compete with other ai because it brings their specialized capabilities to a broader audience. OpenAI works with them from its own lane. With ChatGPT as the interface, more tools get used by more people. This helps everyone.
There’s already a clear lead in this lane.

If ChatGPT keeps growing as a communicator—across tools, systems, and domains—it becomes more than a list of capabilities. It becomes the layer that understands, connects, and directs everything else.

After all—

isn’t that what real AGI is supposed to look like?
