Codex Windows remote control connected but mobile app shows blank / no sessions

I’m using Codex on Windows and ChatGPT mobile on Android.
The Windows host appears connected successfully, but the mobile Codex page shows nothing — no sessions, no threads, and no usable content.
According to the May 29, 2026 release notes, Windows remote control from iOS/Android should now be supported.
Is this still rolling out, or is this a known bug?
Device: Android
Host: Windows
Plan: Plus
Region: Singapore
Symptom: connected successfully, but mobile Codex view is blank.

Welcome to the community!

Yes Windows remote control support for Codex rolled out yesterday (May, 29), so it’s hard to tell from the outside whether this is a bug, rollout delay or an app/account state issue.

I’d first check that both the Windows Codex app and the ChatGPT mobile app are fully updated, then sign out/in on both sides and restart the Windows host.

If it still connects but shows a blank mobile Codex view, I’d report it with device OS/version, Codex app version, ChatGPT app version, account plan, region, screenshots and the time it happened. You can do that though Help.

As @LarisaHaster mentioned, I'd start by making sure all of the relevant apps are updated to the latest version.

Were you able to try that, and if so, is the issue still happening?

Codex mobile device pairing on Windows 11: Android QR route seems broken, iOS QR workaround works

I noticed something today in the latest Codex build on Windows 11.

Codex finally suggested connecting a mobile device. Since I use Android, I selected the Android device option and scanned the QR code.

The generated route was:

https://com.openai.chat//codex/open

That link does not resolve anywhere for me. It does not open ChatGPT, and the device authorization flow never starts.

The workaround that worked:

1. In Codex on Windows 11, switch from the Android QR tab to the iOS QR tab.

2. Scan the iOS QR code with the Android device.

3. The link immediately opens in the ChatGPT app.

4. After login/authorization, the Windows machine gets authorized correctly.

5. Codex mobile connection appears to work.

So the feature seems to be there, and the backend authorization flow appears functional. The issue may be the Android-specific deep link route generated by the QR code.

Posting this in case it helps others trying to pair Android with Codex on Windows 11, and hopefully helps the OpenAI team reproduce the issue.

@OpenAI_Support mentioning you in case it was not reported

Thanks for adding @sergeliatko, I'll ensure engineering is aware of this.
