Whatever I do, even i I change completely the prompt chats is stuck on trying to read a document and give the same answer again and again since yesterday. What can I do ? I use GPT 4-o

Have you told it “focus only on this prompt” then say search dog see if that resets it

I was just wondering how to go back a few text before and start over dont mind the other line.

Redirect it from the action to see if you can redirect it if not copy paste or drag and drop your docs to a new instance.

I just said hello to chat and he replied the same message of not being able to treat me doc XD

Then it is a session glitch , you can share it with self and see if that works .

If not copy paste is your only route. Start a new session and rebuild I’m so sorry if this is the case :heart::confounded:

Its a 2 years chat for un phd so rebuild it will be pretty hard and the link for sharing is impossible to create since I uploaded images and it is not yet supported

You don’t keep copy paste notes? How could it be up that long? GPT has page length maximums. I fill a page really fast.

If it has been a single chat for two years that is why it’s glitched.

How many documents have been uploaded over two years? Just curious never seen a case like this :rabbit:

You should try what @thackercary said first. Change it the prompt before you had the issue

That’s a good idea too it may have a conflict. I don’t use it at all for that reason.

That’s a lot of work if it is a long running chat but yes that would fix some confusion as would weeding out paradoxically phrased instructions that cause a back loop or confusion on which doc if many are up chat. It seemed stuck in a read doc conflict read doc conflict loop

This is the best advice I can give any GPT developer, if you use the app to access GPT get a cloud notebook. And keep track of your research.

The notebook? Yes it’s just a copy paste thing I jump back and forth from. And cause it holds code and other digital structures it copy pastes clean.

I build my instructions in it the note pad and copy paste directly to the txt window in builder . I can visualize logic flow so I don’t chat with it to build it. I make code then test it and debug it in notes.

I use two iPads one with notes shared the other running GPT

I cleared the memory changed the message where the bud started and It worked
