I updated the app and joined the beta. the problem got fixed for me:D

Finally the bug is gone. No more endless regenerating and the chat being messed up!
Except another problem now with GPT-5. It’s way dumber when it comes to story telling and RP. And there’s no way to select model manually

Yeah… I haven’t noticed it being particularly bad yet, but I miss 4o.

Yes, I do. I’ll probably cancel it though after this month, with 4o gone.

Bro plus users have 4o right now
Go to the web version of chat gpt go on settings on general and you will have an option there called “Show Legacy model” press the button to turn it on and boom 4o back you can access it on every platform of Chat GPT you just got to activate the “Show Legacy model” through the web.So if you want 4o don t unsubscribe as only plus users have it and the longer we use 4o the longer the model will stay
but that too will be removed soon. Apparently even in social media there’s a lot of backlash and some news articles that a lot of people are cancelling subscriptions because they won’t allow to select models manually.
And honestly, most people don’t like 5. Story telling and RP is a small niche but apart from us, normal people aren’t liking 5 too.

They said they will determine how long 4o will stay depending on the usage.So the more we use 4o the longer 4o stays.I mean at one point GPT-5 will become better than 4o since GPT-5 just released of course it won t be like 4o but in like a few months GPT-5 will be better than 4o cause open ai are going to update the model and so on.We just got to keep using 4o more so that when its gone again GPT-5 will already be better than 4o

Yeah.Also if you are on mobile and it doesn t appear after you turned on the legacy mode just reinstall the app and it should appear cause thats what i did and 4o appeared after i uninstall Chat GPT and installed it again

Hopefully, the manual selection comes back. I would subscribe to plus but I’m not from US or a super expensive country where it’s normal for a subscription to be $20 a month.
For me, it’s like sacrificing all of my monthly uber rides cost so I’m not going to subscribe to plus, just for 4o.
