ChatGPT desktop app keyboard navigation

Hi Team,

Thanks for the great app!

It would be great if some common keyboard navigation can be implemented in ChatGPT desktop app, some examples (reference only):

  1. Command + [, Command + ] for navigation.
  2. Command + \ to toggle sidebar.
  3. Command + J to change model (borrowed from Finder)

Kind Regards

+1 here: please ass keyboard shortcuts to the desktop app

notably, shortcut to navigate to, and between, chats. eg ctrl+1 to jump to the first chat, ctrl+2 to jump to the second, and so on. just like browser tabs

The macOS app is not keyboard accessible. Please update the app so there is keyboard navigation. This is a major accessibility problem.

One cannot tab through the elements, nor navigate even up and down with arrow keys in the chat window.

Keyboard shortcuts for changing the model would be awesome. A few suggestions:

  • shortcut for choosing the mode
  • shortcut for searching conversations (command L like spotify? or command shift F like vscode?
  • shortcut to “go back” (command left arrow?)

there are lots more you could do, I’m sure you guys can figure it out.

I use keyboard shortcuts for everything. If the option to change the model was just added to the menu bar this would speed up my workflow a lot.

  • Command + L to go to the chat bar
  • Command + F to to to the search bar
  • Command + J to open the model picker
  • All models can be picked from the menu bar, maybe in a model drop down
  • Command + Shift + [ and Command + Shift + ] to navigate between your latest conversations.
  • Command + E to edit the last message
  • Some sort of shortcut to enable and disable search and deep research.

I think what I have suggested follow most of the rest of MacOS
