If anything I see a fix coming in a update they roll out with other bug fixes. I don’t see this being a issue resolved with high priority as its been going on for days

Means, it’s not a big deal for them “(

Its not. If it was they probably would of made a statement or something that they are working on fixing it. As far as I can tell not everyone has the same issue with this. It would be more of an issue for them if everyone was experiencing this

It still says updated saved memory in the chat but not in settings when I tried again

Same. I tried to change promts like “memorize this for my creative writing “, but it doesn’t work… Such a shame, I can’t continue my story even when I pasted everything about my characters in new conversation. After 3-4 replies from the Chat, it forgets everything. What’s the point of cross-chat memory if it can’t even use the info I copy-pasted in one chat?

I had a support person message me, but unfortunately they misunderstood saying the memory must of been full. I started another chat. Trying to be as painfully clear as possible

Ive neen trying. Any updates at all?

Nope. It’s still sucks. And there’s no response from OpenAI team too. @OpenAI_Support

I hate the fact that I had to summarize 45 FACTS in 250 characters max. Damn, that was painful…

saved memory has now become a joke. I had to copy and paste my memory and tell chatgpt to add the revisions et al to memory after i deleted it. It rarely does it properly on the first attempt typically missing key points even though it was there before.

And you also need to be careful, too. If it’s contained even a word that’s against OpenAI policy, the ChatGPT would never save it too, even after you summarize it under 250 words. I can’t say anything but ChatGPT is degrading into Gemini level now, lol.

Well said. It’s very frustrating to use. Now I switch between Grok and Perplexity. CoPilot is ridiculous and I only use it for spreadsheet formulas which ChatGPT fails miserable (ditto with Gemini, even with Google Sheets).

NGL, if Grok had the saved memory/long term memory feature, I’ll already switch to Grok now. I believe ChatGPT would have no problem about it’s memory. But now I’m really disappointed. 200 bucks for nothing, lol.

Is this the first time that a “memory bug” persisted for more than 3 days? Or something happened longer than before in the past?

Hell if this dont get fixed soon ill cut my sub and just go back to dungeon ai

No one really know for sure, as there’s been no response from OpenAI team. We’ve been waiting for 3 days straight without any information regarding the issue from them, even after some of us already reported the issue. I mean, the issue is really simple, as it’s from their backend. Just a little change on the codes. But seems like OpenAI choose to work more on adding more features that not everyone use instead of focusing on this issue.

NGL, it became really unusable for me during the “Memory blackout” (as I call it) till now. My projects is still on standby because of it, and it seems like OpenAI are being ignorant about the problem and are more focused on the “Sycophancy” issue.
