Hey @sylvainfaust, nothing’s showing up on the status page right now, so this doesn’t look like a wider outage.
A couple quick things worth trying: open it in a private/incognito window and log out then back in. You can also switch to a different model (like GPT-5.1 or GPT-5.2) and rerun the same request just to see if it completes there. And if you’re on web, try the mobile app (or the other way around) to compare.
If it’s failing across models and devices, that starts looking more account-specific. In that case, best move is to email support@openai.com so we can troubleshoot further.
I have the same issue as you.
Support has been unresponsive and unreliable. With no updates from them, I had to switch to Claude and pay there, and I’m now learning how to use Claude. OpenAI: how long can you remain in business?

Is happening here too. Deep Research stuck on “Researching…” around 20%. And once you update it turns to “Starting…0”. Agent mode also stucks on “Setting up my desktop” or “Thinking”.
I tried in PC, mobile, google chrome (+ incognito window procedure recommendation), firefox, multiple times with different chats, also clearing cache, and nothing works.

It did forced me to open an Anthropic $$ account and moving things there. Will cancel OpenAI account soon.

Same here, been trying to fix this for a couple days now, with no success. For some context, plus account, it started when i used a deepresearch query while walking around with the college wi-fi and the connection must have cut out. Ever since them, in any device, even after logging out, clearing the cache/cookies/memory all deepresearchs get stuck at around 25%, only displaying “Researching” and nothing in the thinking box, while “Failed to load resource : /backed-api/account…. server responded with a status of 401 ()” shows up. I must have wasted all my 5.2 deep researches trying to fix it, thinking of cancelling and starting the account again. It also fails on legacy deep research, but 5.2 thinking works fine. If anyone manages to fix this, let me know.

Me too man, me too…. I am hoping the fix the bug as soon as possible and do something about the days we couldn’t use it.
I deleted the browser cache and it worked. My worry is that i lost the credit during my previous attempts
