I currently run ChatGPT on my macbook air using the APP, but I cannot change it to the newest model 5.6. I am a Plus member, too.
Thanks for flagging this, @shattmem. Since you’re using the Mac app, please try signing out and back in, disconnecting any VPN, switching to a different network, and reinstalling the ChatGPT app.
If GPT-5.6 still doesn’t appear, please email support@openai.com with a short screen recording, your ChatGPT app version, and your macOS version. Once you receive a case ID, share it here so the issue can be investigated further.
