I have two phones, an android and an iPhone. I use chatGPT plus on both.
Both phones have the chatGPT-4o option in the dropdown, although, only the iPhone is actually using it. My android has no idea what GPT-4o is even though it is selected from the dropdown.
What’s the deal here? Slow rollout?
I am facing the same issue in my Android. I subscribed to ChatGPT Plus because I wanted to access ChatGPT 4o on my Android. But it has no hearing capabilities. When will it be rolled out to Android?
same here. i used it on iphone but i need it on my Android device. hope openai will make an Android version
I am facing the same issue. I am a plus customer with an android phone. Even if “4o” shows up on the drop-down menu, it is not able to do any of the things shown in the OpenAI presentation. It cannot sing, cannot take video as input and so on…
Is there any official OpenAI source of info on this issue?
You might need to update your OpenAI app. I have an android phone (Samsung Galaxy S21), and the 4o version works just fine. Hopefully this helps!
Nope, even after update the video option is not there. People, don’t pay for it! It says clearly in the app that the Plus version includes the 4o, and Ì can indeed switch to it, but it has none of the features they presented. Samsung Galaxy S20FE

As of 8/23/24 it’s still wildly misleading. There’s voice support but it’s hidden behind the headphones icon… For whatever reason. Still can’t use my camera to communicate like was shown three months ago now. This company has gone full corporate already. Unless you’re an investor, to hell with you. They’re being pushed to roll things out before they’re ready since so many companies have invested tens of billions.
