I have been paying for a subscription for 8 months now. The service was OK at the beginning but for some time it has gotten worse and worse. It almost became unusable. I almost always encounter the “Network error” message.
Is there anyone from the company who reads these messages and can respond to us?

I have been facing sluggish response for all my queries. I was sick of slow responses, then I tried deleting all the chat history data from GPT. Now, It’s smooth sailing… Try this if it works for you guys.

same here terrible response times for over a week now taking ~2-5 mins to respond
i was using 3.5 and switched to 4.0 and it worked better for few hours or so but then back to painfully slow
chrome will tell me many time that web page hasnt responded and do i want to kill it or wait
after frustration i switched over to use bard from google and the response times on that are awesome
The service is incredibly slow, like a sloth drenched in molasses! I initially thought it might be due to my Chromium browser, but honestly, I don’t even care anymore. This feels like nothing more than corporate greed at its finest, with them trying to expand faster than numbers on an Excel spreadsheet! Paying for this service is like throwing coins into a wishing well sculpted from lead. And forget about getting any real support – they just throw their useless AI robo-dog at you instead of providing actual answers. The whole thing is a complete disaster! Fix it now, or you’ll face the wrath of countless frustrated customers!

Reporting extremely slow waiting times for getting a simple reply… it is really annoying.
I’m cancelling the subscription as soon as i set up my workflow with Google Bard. No problems at all with Bard, and for free!

I’ve been noticing the same thing for days and it’s super frustrating. I thought (was hoping) it was me. Cleared browser, new browser, system restarts, anything. None of it worked. It now looks like it’s thread specific, which is a bummer, because the whole point of staying on the same thread has been working on one project with a memory so I can easily refer back to earlier changes, notes, etc, and not have to start fresh every time.
Still slow. This is a pain in the butt. Am looking at an encyclopedia for answers??
I am having the same issue and i also yelling at my Macbook pro screen , like why this is happening , many time the GPT4 froze when i refresh the page it just refreshing for ever and i must change browser to make it work. I am really disappointed because it should get better not worser. I prefer the old ChatGPT4 than this
I investigated the problem what cause browser freezes when chat became enough long (just a few days of conversation): when we ask anything gpt server returns pretty fast withing 4-8 seconds usually.
BUT: then tab just the browser just freezes and you can’t do anything for SEVERAL MINUTES!!!
But: you can close the tab and open it again and voila everything is fine, you see the answer instantly! It’s pretty clear that problem with frontend javascript. I don’t know what exactly, but their frontend developer is running some shitty functions that are blocking the browser!
Hey GPT developer, don’t you know this frontend BIGGEST issue? Why you ignore this a year?

The chat becomes very slow when the chat thread becomes very long. If you open a new thread where the chat is empty, there will be no problem. It is all due to the browser and the memory at your side.
However, this is still a problem that needs to be solved by OpenAI

Gonna add some logs on the fire.
Every responce is now “Analyzing” for minutes, then throws error, tries again and only after that continues normaly as before - writing an answer, which oftelny ends in half due to some sort of error (this is going for days = 【oaicite:0】)
Answers are notably dummer and not logical, even with 4, it feels like 3,5 or even worse. Translations are oftelny off, same level as google translate and provided information are more pushed onto the user. (Make a list of these stuff = here is the first three items, you can create that yourself like this etc. AI telling me to make my own lists, analysis, codes etc are pretty common now and it needs to be talked to to make the actuall work).
On top of that, some answer are newly not given, since “they can be against policies”. This is especially painfull. Im a tailor and i discuss patterns and designing stuff a lot and im getting refused payed service on iterally anything that can even remotely be about underwear - even patterns, moodboards and text to the website are refused to be processed now.
21 century, when we developed generative softwares and we do refuse service to anyone based on “this can be viewed as sensitive to some people”. Oftenly, my productivity goes down with talking smack to GPT or trying to get something out of it. Thinking about alternatives.

I’m in the same boat - especially on browser. Deeply slow and frustrating. On the app (iOS) it works reasonably fast and well … but why?!
I have the same issue on Chrome or Firmware. It seems closing and opening the tab is faster than waiting for the response.

I’ve been having the same problem as all of you but certainly appears that nobody from ChatGPT is listening, no matter which Browser I use, same result, deathly slow. I also find it frustrating that unless you are an American you have to constantly remind AI that you need him to write/respond in your dialect especially when it comes to other languages and other English language formats. I am now having to revert back to Reverso more and more both for speed and accuracy for French to UK English, Very frustrating and terrible for wasting time. I’m still looking for a fix to the slow, so slow ChatGPT 3.5 and 4!
Yes to the point of canceling the service… Switched to GPT 3.5 to get some response but realized the performance/quality on GPT4 is soo much better.
So really no alternative as of now. GPT4 is awesome but unusable response times.
