Same here, logging out & in doesn’t solve. I also don’t want to archive all my chats since I access them frequently…

I also experience the same problem, for two weeks after some time chapt gpt stops understading any of the pdf files, even though it could analyse them before. Practically making my work with chat now useless as I aminly use it for analysing and translating documents from one language to english.

I am having the same problem! I have tried multiple pdf files and even tried different methods. It still isn’t able to read my files that I know are not corrupt nor empty.

Being assertive didn’t work for me either. First started getting this problem last night and it hasn’t been resolved since.

Having the same issue. I am now wondering why I am paying for GPT 4. For the last 6 months I have been either unable to use the full functionality, or I have been getting completely lazy, useless responses.

It happened to me too. I found out that using a different browser seems to resolve the issue. So deleting cache and browser history could work also (have not tried this yet because a lot of my temporary files are important to me lol)

Unfortunately, none of the tricks mentioned here before worked for me either. Even weirder, when copying the plain text of a 5.5 pages long document into the chat I got the message: “The message you submitted was too long, please reload the conversation and submit something shorter.”

started using chat.pdf, and I suggest you guys do the same. Hopefully, this pushes ChatGPT to fix this asap

I had ChatGPT create a PDF file. Then asked it to read the file it just created. It couldn’t even do that.

Sometimes I can make chatGPT read my files, but Its answers are completely no sense. I don’t know what else to do :frowning:

I am having the same issues! I have so many chats I cannot immagine archiving them all! I hope this will be resolved soon, it is a major inconvenience

I also got frustrated and was more assertive. Typed, ‘WORK BETTER’ and it was able to read the documents. Then flipped a couple of prompts later to not work, but I was able to get it working again by responding with, ‘YOU ARE NOT WORKING’.

Make it make sense?

Having exactly the same issue, only purchased my subscription recently, and I literally only managed to get it to read 1 file, I have tried it in every format, and nothing works other than copying and pasting the text into the chatbox. Should I cancel my subscription? I really don’t know what else to do.
