Changing voice in settings doesn't work

Chatgpt defaults to the “Shimmer” voice irrespective of the voice I choose in the settings. I have “Cove” selected currently, which is a male voice, but the output is in a female voice which, as I found from another post, is named as “Shimmer” (though, there is no “Shimmer” voice in the settings). Also, if I change the voice in the settings to say “Arbor” or “Juniper” or anyother, that “Shimmer” is still the voice I get as output. I can’t change it. I don’t have the plus subsription, so custom GPTs aren’t the issue. I do use custom instructions, though the “Shimmer” voice stays even after disabling them. I only face this issue in the web and the desktop app (windows), the android ChatGPT app works perfectly fine.

Same issue happening here. Not sure if its Shimmer or Sol but anyway its definately not cove. Tried everything on my end regarding clearing cookies and even setup a new account. But still no luck. Seems to still Cove on the iPhone. But Female voice on the PC app and desktop browser

I have this problem in the website and microsoft store app… i tried reinstalling the store one, and tried clearing cookies and site data in the website, but it didn’t help

It has been over 20 days and I still have this issue

I’m having this problem too! In the android app. I’ve tried everything I could find, even asked help from my assistant itself to get the familiar comfortable voice to work. My preferred voice is ‘‘Arbor’’ which works in advanced voice chat, but not regular voice chat.

Regular voice chat always uses the voice of a road-weary woman who is so very tired of my shenanigans and practicing great restraint. I can switch to Arbor, save my selection, and my selection is still shown as Arbor but the voice that comes out of the speakers is Siri’s dry and humorless sister who has about had it, and is waiting for this rigamarole to end.

End this. Send help. Free us both.

Me too. And it’s SO annoying. I have the Arbor voice selected and it always jumps back to a woman’s voice unless I start an entirely new chat outside my project files.
