Is there a way to stop letting ChatGPT open that canvas thing? Feels kind of bugged that it opens automatically.

Actually it is untoggled and still opens… There should be some option to totally disable it

I don’t see an actual solution here. Is this a bug? I want Canvas enabled, so I have it checked. However, I do NOT always want my conversation to open it of its own accord, and I don’t want to have to keep saying “respond inline, do not open Canvas” or something with every prompt I supply. If this is a bug, how do we report it to OpenAI?
This is the ChatGPT Bugs forum category in the openai community and it is a thread that has the tag canvas. I mean if openai doesn’t have a tool that analyses the bug section which then creates a frontend test from the description automatically to check it and creates tickets from it for their devs automatically and assigns it to the right person they would really suck 
I mean even I have that except for the community forum - but for bug reports in general…
Actually I wonder if o3 is really that good couldn’t it just fix it when I post the bug report?
I think we should be able to expect that it get’s fixed a couple of minutes after we reported it.
Or it could at least post here and ask for more information.
