I’m currently facing a frustrating provisioning issue with my Business subscription and wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing the same situation.
According to the standard Business plan, our workspaces should display rolling 5-hour and weekly usage limits for Codex. However, my workspace dashboard completely lacks these metrics. Instead, it only displays a single “Monthly usage limit” that acts as a hard cap.
I reached out to OpenAI Support to report this discrepancy. After a lengthy back-and-forth and providing screenshots from other Business users who have the correct interface, Support acknowledged the difference. However, their response was that this is due to “ongoing product development, workspace configurations, or feature availability” and that the Support team simply does not have the tools to manually modify workspace configurations or opt users out of these specific UI experiences.
Essentially, it seems my paid Business workspace has been placed into an experimental rollout that removes the 5-hour rolling limits and replaces them with a restrictive monthly interface.
Has anyone else on the Business tier been forced into this degraded dashboard configuration? If so, were you able to get the engineering team to opt you out and restore the proper rolling limits?
It feels unfair to pay for a Business tier but be restricted from using it as advertised due to backend A/B testing. Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated!
I’m seeing exactly the same behavior on my ChatGPT Business workspace.
I subscribed very recently, and my Codex Usage page only shows a monthly usage limit. I don’t see any visible 5-hour or weekly counters, while I’ve seen screenshots from other Business users showing different usage-limit interfaces.
I contacted OpenAI Support as well. After several conversations, I was told that Business workspaces may have different Codex UI experiences, and that some limits may exist without being displayed as separate counters.
At this point, I’m still trying to determine whether this is only a UI difference or whether it affects actual Codex entitlements and available usage.
Has anyone received a definitive answer from OpenAI Engineering or Support regarding:
Whether these workspaces are part of a rollout/experiment
Whether the actual Codex limits differ between these interfaces
Whether it’s possible to switch back to the interface that shows rolling limits
Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has investigated this further.
Glad you replied - this confirms it’s a wider issue, not just my account. Hoping someone from @OpenAI_Support or the Codex team sees this and gives an actual answer.
This is purely speculative, but it may be a clue worth investigating. If others can confirm, it could suggest that different groups of users are being shown different account options or are being routed through different account configurations.
Over the past few days, I noticed a new Business plan that appears to be specifically targeted at Codex users:
