I’ve been experiencing issues with pro mode where it will no longer request pro mode or accept images. It is broken on iOS, macOS app, and my web browser. For text based problems it will think no longer than 2-20s and then respond with what appears to be 4o-mini like responses. Been working with the help chat for a few days and they have offered no solutions. I have changed to google login, MFA and logged out all devices then logged back in. I even changed the password. This is generally pretty disappointing given the expense associated with the pro mode.
Did you share your account with friends or maybe family?
I def. did not. I use a vpn at times for work so maybe it appears I am in two different places. I understand that is a complication, but it is unreasonable to lock me out because of this. I assume a large amount of people do this. How would someone with my account be able to access if I am using the MFA anyway? The tokens change every 10secs and my phone verifies my google login with my face via passkey. I don’t see how it could be anymore secure.
Were can’t be super sure about this but I think you should exclude a browser from VPN and use that browser for ChatGPT if your VPN supports that otherwise you may consider using VPN extensions as well
I do not see how OpenAI should respond to a potential misuse by making the a Model “half-working”. Doesn’t seem realistic to me. Rather a technical problem IMHO.
Yes that is a good point for someone who uses VPN all the time. They are trying to capture the market by investing in chatGPT on WhatsApp and all, basically targeting the free users as they are in the majority but I believe this is not a idea comparing the same thing with flights, in flights the most money is made by business class not that cheap normal seats which is not cheap for the most yet they make most money from the business class.
Yes, my comparison might have some problems but idea remains the same, you can’t **** over the pro users, they are the moving money bags that openai should grab since it is now moving towards for-profit.
Let’s see what they do next, btw for now my account is safe till now so i am not frustrated at least.
