I think OpenAI should have a $35-$40 subscription tier that bridges the gap between Plus and Pro, giving access to all the models available, including Pro, at lower limits than Pro (but higher than Plus), as well as the bigger context window.
At the moment, whenever I have to use extra ‘compute’, I use GPT-5-Pro (or GPT-5-Thinking High) via API, which is not ideal because ChatGPT already knows a ton about me and my work. That crucial context is, sadly, lost through API. And then there’s 4.5, which cannot be accessed through API anymore, sadly…
Oh, by the way, instead of “standard” and “extended” you should have the reasoning effort be selectable and user should be able to select “low”, “medium”, “high”.
