Bookmarking for Conversations - No Browser Extensions

Dear OpenAI Development Team,

I am writing to propose the addition of a bookmarking feature for both entire conversations and individual responses within the OpenAI chat interface. This suggestion aims to enhance user experience by enabling easy access to significant or frequently referenced discussions and insights.

Situation:

  • Users currently can archive conversations but cannot bookmark specific conversations or responses for quick reference.

Complication:

  • Lack of bookmarking limits efficient navigation and retrieval of important information within chats, affecting productivity and user satisfaction.

Question:

  • Can we implement a feature that allows users to bookmark entire conversations and individual responses, possibly with a highlighting option for selected responses?

Answer - Proposed Feature:

  1. Bookmarking Conversations: Enable users to bookmark entire conversations, making them quickly accessible from a dedicated bookmarks tab or section.
  2. Bookmarking Responses: Allow users to highlight or bookmark individual responses within a conversation for pinpoint referencing.
  3. Organization and Accessibility: Integrate a simple management system for bookmarks, such as categorization or tagging, to facilitate organization and ease of access.

This is a fantastic idea! Was about to search for the same thing. Has this gotten implemented yet? Would love to see it. Couldn’t it even potentially organize and categorize my conversations for me? That’s what I’d hope to see.

Yes, bookmarking and maybe even folder features. So I can add chats to folders for quick referencing. A work folder, a gaming folder, a grammar folder, etc.

I also faced issue while finding the most important/crucial chat , if bookmark were the feature then it would be easier to find the chat that we want. I suggest ChatGPT developers to add this feature.

This would be very helpful! I came here to ask for the same feature. Users should be able to bookmark a specific segment of a response/conversation and then easily see those bookmarks and revisit those sections later. I don’t think it should just be the responses either. There are times where I’d like to revisit my own questions/thoughts as well.
