Apps search only returning results based on App Name or Subtitle

App search seems broken (I would say) as only keywords matching the App Name or Subtitle (30 chars) appear in the secondary app description appear when searching for apps.

Previously, if I searched under /apps for “education” (for example), I would see more apps that had that keyword in their longer description. Now that doesn’t work. With just “Featured”, “Lifestyle”, and “Productivity” as categories, it’s not easy for users to find app solutions unless they know the name of the app they are looking for already.

Yes, this is the current intended behavior. We found that searching over descriptions right now was proving more noisy and less helpful than just the app title. We’re thinking through ways to make discovery more delightful/genuinely useful for people as the size of the directory grows; if you have thoughts or suggestions I’m happy to take them!

Thanks Casey. Interesting. I understand that depending on keywords will create some noise and potential for spamming the search. I think if there were more category filters that would avoid that issue where during the App Publishing process, one has to select one primary and maybe a secondary when publishing, e.g.
