API : The model `gpt-4` does not exist or you do not have access to it

Hello,

one of our account have access to the model gpt-4 in as user interface,

yet when we use it via API, we are receiving below error.

May I know how to get this resolved please.

Hi there and welcome to the Forum!

ChatGPT and the API are two separate products. A ChatGPT Plus subscription does not imply access to the API.

The good news however is that you can simply set up an organizational account. In order to obtain access to GPT-4 models via the API you need to have at least USD 5 credit in your account.

Unless you need chatGPT extensions, using the API is the best bang for your buck if you’re careful with usage, even with plus subscription you have a limit rate on GPT4. GPT3.5 is dirt cheap.
Just saying, it took me a few months to realise the difference
