I would like to add one more important point to my previous four feature requests.
I would like to clarify that I strongly hope these improvements will begin with the current GPT-5.6 generation rather than being postponed until a future model generation.
I especially want these improvements to be implemented and improved across the current GPT-5.6 model family, including GPT-5.6 Sol, GPT-5.6 Terra, and GPT-5.6 Luna.
I am making this request because these improvements are important to me now, and waiting for a future model generation could mean waiting a significant amount of time before the improvements become available.
In particular, I strongly hope that the current GPT-5.6 generation will receive improvements in the following areas:
• Multiple selectable conversational modes — Allow users to choose different conversational experiences, including the proposed Classic Conversational ChatGPT Mode, Natural Conversation Mode, Direct Mode, and Custom Mode.
• Classic Conversational ChatGPT Mode — Provide the GPT-4-inspired personality, conversational warmth, proactive continuation, and text-generation/text-presentation characteristics that I described in my previous feedback.
• Natural Conversation Mode — Provide the GPT-5.2-era personality and text-generation/text-presentation characteristics that I personally preferred.
• Direct Mode — Provide the GPT-5.2-era personality and text-generation/text-presentation characteristics that I personally preferred while maintaining a more direct interaction style.
• Stronger long-term memory — Increase the amount of useful information ChatGPT can retain and improve memory retention, accuracy, recall, prioritization, and long-term preservation.
• Better continuity across conversations — Allow important information established over time to remain available when users continue their long-term conversations.
• Better continuity across model updates — When the underlying model is updated or replaced, important memories should remain available rather than being lost or weakened.
• Preservation and restoration of memories in existing conversations — When users return to conversations created with previous models or previous versions of ChatGPT, important memories and relevant context associated with those conversations should remain available. If that continuity was lost during a model transition, I would like the system to provide a way to recover or restore the relevant previous memories and context.
These requests are intended to complement my previous feedback, not replace or contradict it.
My previous requests were about the desired experience and capabilities. I would now like to emphasize that I want OpenAI to begin implementing these improvements within the current GPT-5.6 generation rather than waiting for a future generation.
I especially want these improvements to be available in the current GPT-5.6 models. I do not want these requests to be postponed until a future model generation, because the need for stronger memory, better conversational personalization, and greater continuity exists now.
I am particularly concerned about long-term memory because I have ongoing conversations, projects, preferences, and other important context that I would like to continue using now. A future model may eventually provide improvements, but that does not solve the immediate need for a more reliable memory experience in the current generation.
I therefore strongly hope that GPT-5.6 Sol, GPT-5.6 Terra, and GPT-5.6 Luna will receive these improvements to conversational personalization and memory, rather than requiring users to wait for an entirely new model generation.

Stronger and more reliable long-term memory
Continuity across conversations and model updates.
