I’m writing to follow up on the deactivation of my OpenAI account and to formally appeal this decision, which I believe was made in error.

According to the notification email, my account was deactivated for activity related to “Distillation” under your Terms and Usage Policies. I want to state clearly that I have not engaged in any such activity. This account is used solely for personal purposes: academic research, learning, and everyday professional tasks such as drafting documents and coding assistance. I have not used any automated or repetitive large-scale API calls, nor have I shared my account or API credentials with any third party or used any third-party tool that would perform bulk data extraction or automated querying on my behalf.
I submitted an appeal through the official appeal form on July 8, 2026 and it has now been 3 days without any update. Given the impact this has had on my ongoing research and work, I would greatly appreciate a manual review of my case at your earliest convenience.
