Accessibility changes benefit everyone — let's make ChatGPT usable for all!

I recently submitted my Accessibility Bill of Rights (Master Edition) via email to OpenAI support—highlighting how ChatGPT’s thin, auto-hiding scrollbars override my system settings and pose a serious accessibility barrier.

This isn’t just about me. When accessibility improves:

  • Motor-impaired users (CP, ALS, MS, etc.) gain easier navigation.

  • Blind/low-vision users get better screen reader and Braille support.

  • Hearing-impaired users benefit from captions and visual cues.

  • Neurodivergent users benefit from predictable layouts and focus clarity.

  • AUTISTIC users with motor impairments, blind users with hearing loss, and those with multiple overlapping needs—each gain autonomy and independence.

Accessibility isn’t a niche feature—it’s a baseline. When ChatGPT honors system settings and works with assistive technologies, all users experience better usability.

Please share your experiences—if you’ve encountered similar barriers or use similar assistive setups, comment below. Together we can show OpenAI how urgent this issue is—and why fixing it benefits everyone.
