It looks like scam when they offer “premium” option which in reality is a “demo” of how it should work.
Hopefully will appear a good alternative of OpenAI to make them working and make money harder.
I’ve never had a problem with this cap until I started creating GPTs using GPTBuilder. This is totally not a feasible solution for paid ChatGPT subscribers.
Almost had enough of these ridiculous limits now when paying for a pro plan - just causes work to stop when trying to do analysis and having to repeat prompts to get the correct data.
Is there any way we can flag this to the openAI team? Cribbing here is not helping at all.

This usage limit debacle has happened to me today too. Really frustrating. If you pay for a service, you expect to receive that service, not be blocked!
Trying to get it to create an image - I uploaded a face for it to copy as best it can in terms of facial features. I know it can’t create exactly but it can do a good impression. I briefed it very thoroughly and it kept missing important features. When I asked it to just add one thing, it changed everything again, even though I said keep the image exactly, but make the coat red! So I had several attempts - 32 to be exact! But each time it didn’t include what I asked - so capping my usage because of the tech not being able to handle the brief is a tad annoying. However, I do understand it’s still in its infancy but one thing it does need to do is be able to take a brief and create what you ask of it - as near as possible. Then if you ask for tweaks, the image needs to stay the same but have the tweaks sorted out, rather than redraw it completely each time.

I have a subscription and I’ve never had problems with usage before. This morning I did maybe 15 message and I got the “reached current usage cap” message. Why is this happening??

I was using DALL-E this morning and kept prompting for an image of a clean-shaven man. The output was of a man with a beard and I couldn’t get an image of a clean-shaven man regardless of the specifics in the prompt.

AGREED. Tech is too advanced to not acknowledge the tokens used/remaining.
This was a topic of some amusement to others a bit ago.
ChatGPT Plus is meted out in GPT-4 conversation turns in the last three hours, not tokens.
The use of custom GPTs consumes that at almost double the rate, an unpublished limitation (but internally GPTs can make many more than double the AI model calls).

Today I got to 22msgs before reaching the cap. There were no regenerated msgs. Also I had not used it at all in the preceding 8 hours.

This is just bad. Nothing else to say really… I mean it’s somewhat understandable, but lame. As far as I can understand there will be higher tiers, no purpose paying those 20 usd until then?

It was really diaspointed, i pay 20 dollars for chatgpt4 each months, and now it limit the message sending cap to 40, give me a reason why i subscibe chatgpt4 and not change to gemini.

The limit says 40 messages, but in reality it seems to be 25 messages, anyone noticed that? I would generally says this is a very dishonest practice from OpenAI. I get that they want to be releasing new features, which adds a load on their resources - but they should be clear on what they are offering so customers can make an informed decision if they want to keep paying their subscription plan or move to a competitor. As it stands - at the point where there is a viable alternative, their pro customers will move to them due to the sheer dishonesty on their end.

Open AI really need to either raise the limit considerably or remove it completely for paying users. It is absolutely ridiculous how much time I have to spend correcting things that have already been established. I am not paying to train their product, I am paying to use their product.

and again, i experienced the limit and current usage cap after only 1 hour 9 minutes. 2/3 of the time wasted with correcting and explaining, still i would like to go on exploring the abilities… would like to be contacted
