In my work with Cristallo, my AI assistant, I sometimes leave a task running while I step away from the screen. A written question can go unnoticed; keeping Voice open continuously is not always practical with my connection.
I would suggest an optional setting that lets a Work or Codex task, even one started in text, briefly get the user’s attention by voice when a question, inconsistency, or decision needs discussion.
For example: “I found a difference between the two versions of the document. Could we look at it together?”
The prompt would play through the speaker or headphones of an associated, reachable device, without the user needing to look at the task. If the user answers, a short conversation could begin; when it ends, Voice would close and the decision would remain in the same conversation.
Users could choose which tasks are authorized to call, the reasons for a call, the hours, and a preferred device, avoiding simultaneous alerts. The microphone would be used only for the response; if there is no answer, the question would remain pending.
OpenAI Docs already describes future calls initiated by dots. The specific use case here is contact prompted by a task’s needs, without keeping a voice session open continuously.
At what points in your work would a prompt like this be useful rather than intrusive?
