Will expired vector stores continue to be billed until they are deleted?

Hello!
I was looking up information about Vector Store’s API and expiration policy, and I had a question.

According to the document linked above, when a Vector Store expires, the vector.files object is removed and no charges are incurred. Then, if my Vector Store usage is 2GB when it expires, will no charges be incurred even if the Vector Store is not deleted? Or does the Vector Store need to be deleted for no charges to be incurred?

It’s my understanding that you will only be charged for active stores, I will get clarification on that.

That is the full understanding:

expiry means auto-deletion

…all associated vector_store.file objects will be deleted and you’ll no longer be charged for them.

No more vector store ID, no more file attachment, no more extracted document, no more file attribute metadata. No more embeddings vectors.

No report “NN KB hours so far this month · $0.1 / GB per day” to be seen, because there is nowhere to see it.
