Why does Chatgpt not know the Chatgpt interface?

Double-check your global Memory settings

  1. In ChatGPT, click your profile icon (bottom-left) → Settings.
  2. Go to Data ControlsMemory.
  3. Make sure “ChatGPT can save to and load from memory” is On..

“This does not exist, it is top right”

You’re right—the profile menu is top-right. Let’s correct that:

  1. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of ChatGPT.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. In the Settings modal, choose Data Controls on the left.
  4. Click Memory and make sure “ChatGPT can save to and load from memory” is On.
  5. Close Settings, refresh the page, then open Your GPTs → Builder → Customize again and look for Memory & data in the sidebar.

Let me know if the Memory toggle appears now. If it still doesn’t show, we’ll switch immediately to the RAG-based fallback.

Step 1: Open the Memory settings

  1. Click Settings (top-right profile menu).
  2. In the Settings modal, click Data Controls on the left.
  3. Under Data Controls, click Memory.

Let me know once you’re on the Memory screen (or if you don’t see “Memory” there).

I then upload a screen-grab.

where?

Let’s skip the built-in memory toggle and build our own RAG memory in Supabase (since you’re already using it). We’ll do one clear task at a time.

Hi, welcome to the community!

ChatGPT doesn’t have just one type of screen or way to use it. You can use it on different web browsers, iOS, Android, the Windows app, and even on a mobile browser. The settings can look on different place. Sometimes they’re at the top right, sometimes on the bottom left, or in other places depending on your device. Also, ChatGPT’s training only goes up to June 2024, so it doesn’t know about any updates made after that. If you ask it about newer versions of the app or how it looks now, it may not be right unless it searches the web. But if there’s no info online, it might give a wrong answer. That’s why you’ll see a note at the bottom that says: “ChatGPT can make mistakes. Check important info.”
