Why ChatGPT does have a option in their website for standard output formats?

Hello Team,

In ChatGPT, usually the user give prompt via text , the needed output format as input. It must be explicitly given all time. Most of the time general users needs comparison table, list, summary text, flowchart type of output. It might be repetitive and maybe consuming more tokens unnecessarily.

Feature suggestion : Why ChatGPT shouldn’t introduce a output format selection dropdown in the prompt field. When a user gives a prompt, the user selects the output type from a dropdown selection itself, the specific output format he is interested in. It will improve user experience.

I often find myself adding “make it a table” or “give me a summary” after the prompt anyway. Even a small set of options like Table, List, Summary, Steps, or Detailed could make it a little easier to get the format you want without having to spell it out every time.
