Hello Open AI community,
How can I tell which open ai model is being used for a custom GPT? We created Papr Memory a GPT on ChatGPT. Does open-ai always uses the most updated model that supports tool calling for GPTs?
Thanks!

This seems like a relatively simple question I also cannot find the answer to. I’d love to know!
Apparently a version of 4o
Hi @alexbyair and welcome to the community!
According to OpenAI documentation:
Creating a GPT is only available to paid users and is currently powered by GPT-4o.
Hi I would like to select o4mini or o4mini-high as the base model for my custom GPTs why are we stuck on the somewhat outdated 4o model, don’t get me wrong – it has been good but progress is looming, and surely Open-ai wants to be competitive before Google releases AgentSpace where we could use Gemini 2.5 with custom setups? I like Open-ai so want to keep developing here.
