I know there was an update or something but please bring back the option to select the Canvas Model. I like that one a lot better.
Welcome to the forum!
Yesterday for the fourth day of 12 days of OpenAI they released updates to canvas.
- Made it public for all including ChatGPT free accounts
- Moved the selection of using canvas to a tools button for a conversation.
- Can run Python code in and the model can read errors from the console for faster diagnosis.
Currently on my Windows ChatGPT desktop app which I updated after the release of the new features see
The original way
and now the new way
Note: The middle icon (toolbox) was selected to get the dropdown with the canvas option to appear.
(Thank you for the reply!)
And oh I must admit I am not a fan of the change. The toolbox Canvas feels really clunky to use compared to it as a 4o model, and it doesn’t even show up on mobile.
I wish they brought back the model option…
Thanks for noting.
I don’t use a phone with ChatGPT and really don’t use ChatGPT with an Internet browser so don’t always see all of the variations anymore, it was much easier when there was just the Internet browser interface.
My browser version shows, as you noted, no model listed with the canvas option.
I encountered the same issue, and you are the only correct answer I found after searching Google for half a day. I really appreciate your help.
Welcome to the forum!
Thanks for the feedback, it means a lot to hear such!
Care to share your experience on what you tried, what failed, and what led you here? I ask because if users like you are not getting the correct answer fast enough, others who can make a change can learn from it and improve the process. Yes, sometimes posts such as this on this forum do make a significant impact. It may take a thousand such posts, but it does happen.
Note: I am not an OpenAI employee.
