Image for a second that it is, instead, something like if OpenAI was to have open-sourced Assistants.

It’s a TypeScript SDK that replicates almost all the functionality from the Python library. Tracing & logging support is in progress and should be done soon. Would love feedback or contributions if you’re interested!

I’m also waiting for the original TS/JS release from OpenAI but they don’t seem like caring us!
If developers/engineers outside of OpenAI’s official team can create their own wrappers to provide the Agent SDK in Typescript/Javascript, than I don’t see why they can’t simultaneously with their resources also provide an official Typescript version. I get it, traditionally Python is usually the language of choice when integrating data science or AI/ML features in web applications, but please dont let the biases of your in-house engineers affect the support you provide to a large amount of already paying clients.
What OpenAI is currently saying is that, unless you’re one of the very few people who have enough confidence, knowledge, and experience in both Python and Typescript/Javascript and would prefer to use a Python based framework for the UI design/interactive elements, then OpenAI is not for you and you should instead go use something else like Langgraph or a future release by a competitor.
A thought for managers, lead engineers, and higher level decision makers at OpenAI is, imagine Google releases a Typescript SDK/ADK tomorrow. In this world, you as well as Microsoft would have just lost practically all “web developer” or software engineer clients who are more comfortable using JS/TS are the core langugage to build more complex web based services.
I hope it doesn’t take OpenAI to start getting negative feedback from developers on popular public social platforms like Youtube, X, or Linkedin to actually support a large amount of their clients.
I finally thought we were past this… Looks like it’s Langgraph until OpenAI decides to not ignore all the JS/TS developers.

We need it !!! they should make it if they want people to work and be their clients! they’re slowing us down with not providing enough tools to let us make our stuff.
Need this so bad… Want to integrate this sdk in a startup but can’t because we have a node.js env.
It’s been 2 months since Python release…
Honestly, I’m disappointed and it suggests me you’re going to have this level of attitude going forward.

Typescript sdk needed, i want to use it with supabase edge functions.
