Today I went into a strange thing.. I have purged all docker containers from cache and deleted unused volumes because my harddrive only had like 20GB free… After that it only had ~25GB free.. normally I don’t do that regulary, did it last week and it freed ~150 GB.
So I thought I should investigate into that and found out that codex sessions took up ~400GB of space. The last session that I was working in was nearly 200GB after roughly 6 weeks.
VSCode became quiet unusable - and I think that was the reason. I mean when a system has to work in a 200GB file obviously that causes alot of stress to your computer.
So I have told codex to write an ONBOARDING.md .. added a little to make sure another session could find it’s way into the project faster and then I archived all sessions and moved them to another drive.
Then I started a new session and … well blazing fast ![]()
Enjoy!
