For the past three to four weeks, I have noticed a major issue with the ChatGPT voice system on desktop. No matter which voice I select, they all sound the same ”robotic, unnatural, and with an accent that feels like someone struggling to speak Spanish properly. On top of that, when the system reads something aloud, it often speaks too fast, making it difficult to understand.
In the mobile app, the voices still work correctly, which suggests this is a desktop-specific issue. This change seems to have started after a major OpenAI update, around the time new advanced versions of ChatGPT were introduced.
Additionally, I have encountered strange glitches in voice mode, where it randomly inserts phrases that I never said and make no sense, such as:
*Thanks for watching the video (even when no video is involved in the conversation)
*Unrelated words or sentences in different languages
*Completely nonsensical phrases that were never part of the conversation
This happens randomly, even when I say something as simple as okay, super, the voice changes it to something completely different. It feels like the voice system is pulling fragments from elsewhere or generating unintended speech patterns.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
