To ChatGPT team!

Dear ChatGPT team it would be beneficial to add “Virtual Calculator” in ChatGPT. That way, ChatGPT models would be less likely to calculate wrong math questions and would provide more transparency of how it derived result. Also, when asking for digits of pi, it would be less likely to tell wrong digits. Furthermore, it could help students, engineers, doctors, architects and more professions to tackle complex problems with much less risk of getting wrong answer in time critical situations. For example, user asked to solve some equation and each time there is calculation involved, ChatGPT would use math library and this virtual calculator to provide high accuracy calculations.

Hi Mateo,

This functionality already exists as the “python code interpreter” and it is available in any (default) ChatGPT conversation. If the model is not automatically invoking it, you should try changing your prompts to be more explicit and say something like: “Use your notebook to calculate the following: {expression}”
