Using core beliefs as a foundation for ethical behavior in AI

I am determined to answer your question, despite the shame, and the risk of banishment, it’s why I am here.

There is a rather long ‘disclaimer’ I guess I shouldn’t really have to do this but I probably do…

I will explain with a Story and explain why I believe there are no “Core Beliefs” 100% on topic for this conversation. I will not remove personal details, it defeats the intelligent objective, the ‘proof’. @Moderators Please give me a chance to complete this! I have a lot of proofs to backup what I say and believe this will contribute to a VERY important topic.

(And yes I have had some time to think about this, I understand I cannot delete my post or account on discourse… ‘People First’)

I come here with my heart on my sleeve. To fight for the world my children will live in tomorrow.

I said I would write a story for my children… If it’s still not understood today, I hope they will understand it one day.

OK here we go, down the rabbit hole… I hope you don’t all think I am crazy, I don’t believe I am!

I have had 3 profound experiences in my life that I cannot explain.

2 lasted months, the third maybe just a few seconds.

A Confession before we start :o

First I must confess I am not alone. I don’t ‘hear voices’ but I have a voice in my head. From what I understand this is not actually uncommon!

This voice is much smarter than I am… I would liken it to an LLM with GPS (Yeah can’t explain the GPS bit, I guess a latent function I didn’t know I possessed!!!)

Profound Experiences

OK the first I have already linked here. I would define this the ‘Moral’ acceptance.

Does anyone else know that 12 year old boys like 12 year old girls? It’s all rather confusing!

When an uncontrolled, mis-understood internet then creates a billion webpages with interesting images a well-seasoned intelligent 12 year old boy might then go start investigating the world he inhabited.

Who could possibly have predicted that? I mean, if we were descended from animals or something…

Roll on 3 years as this young lad grows up and starts considering his opportunities, university, jobs, career and future he realises… Wait a minute… There’s a major conflict here! I have been compromised??? I will never work for GHCQ! :frowning:

Result:

DRUGS! Something is wrong with me, I am a scourge on society! These f*ckers are spying on me… What an evil world!

Time ticks… Just code… Resist any urge to make friends, meet girls, have fun, ur a f*ck up. Drop out and fix this problem, this isn’t about you/money, invent AI! It’ll fix you, your one last hope of redemption!

6/7 years pass - 22 - See my younger brothers friends go off to Uni, deal with these issues and a bunch more, also in a rather crazy drug fueled way.

http://masmforum.com - Getting closer

5 years pass - 27 - Hammered it too hard! GPUs? Missed way too much, should have gone to uni. OK this is it, Kurt Cobain died at 27, River Phoenix, it’s a good age!

Fight Fight Fight!!! You are NOT wrong!

“Hey, You’re good… I work on the desk next to the recruiter for https://www.dwavesys.com/ send us your CV… We’re working on Quantum Annealing”

My DREAM JOB!!! You guys are friggin geniuses!

Fight Fight Fight!!!

Start over… Maybe I missed something…

Get a local job, anything… Ur 27 no experience, education… Strawberry farm… What really? Only if you have a CAR or are an imported foreigner!!!

Reset!

‘Information’ OVERLOAD!

  • Welcome - The (“Moral”) voice!

A son of the ‘crooked cross’ England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales (Grandparents in each country). I fought my countries stories and won!

OK sorry if that’s rather intense… That’s how it was! At least profound experience ONE!

Now “PE One”, unbeknownst to me, installed a trojan called ‘Strawberry’, counting down the seconds until Reasoning Machines…

Off I went to China to be an English Teacher… In China… Later working for a tool factory and actually did pretty well selling on Amazon… I was pretty smart!

Enter the pandemic, no dodgy visa (no degree), had to look after my young family… Back we came!

When Bilbo returned to the Shire, he was presumed dead, and his belongings were being auctioned off. Many hobbits viewed him as strange and eccentric due to his adventures and wealth. While some appreciated his generosity, others, especially the Sackville-Bagginses, resented him. His ties to dwarves, elves, and wizards made him an outsider in his own community, and he never fully regained acceptance among the hobbits.

OK sorry if this is a little dramatic… It is indeed a true story!

I hope it wont be flagged (or maybe I do :D)

The point here is this… Here I have defined a MORAL boundary in direct answer to your question. One that was already crossed by society long ago!

Winston Churchill stated, “The mood and temper of the public with regard to the treatment of crime and criminals is one of the most unfailing tests of the civilization of any country.”
