Usage Dashboard showing budget amount, but no usage

I have created a few requests with a key I created, and see this reflected in the budget amount ($0.17), but there are no usage stats. The requests to the Responses API were made in the selected period and by the project I have selected. I even tried removing the project and use the All Projects selection and switching between my org. and Personal org selection with no luck.

I see the requests coming through in the logs and the budget amount is what I would suspect would be the actual spend. Any reason why these won’t show up here in usage?

I see some topics about this using the old legacy dashboard, but none since the new Dashboard was launched.

I guess the new dashboard is to blame for its confusing options. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be a priority to fix… and there is no legacy dashboard anymore.

The $0.17 you see is the overall usage of all projects, while the project you selected hidden in the black rectangle is not the one billed. Click on the “x” there to see “All projects”, then you should be able to see what the usage really is, probably you are using a key for a different project. Change the “Group by” to project or line item to see more details in the chart.

I have used the All Projects view as well with no luck unfortunately

You might have to change the date range too, the $0.17 value you see is month to date, and the date range you selected is starting on nov 3.

Again, as mentioned in the original message, the requests were made in the selected period.

To note - if there is any usage at all in the range, it will show at least one bar at 100%. No usage within the range will still have grey date bars if you hover:

You can also click on “chat completions” mini-graph heading and explore deeper into the calls.

There have been hours delays before in charges appearing, and there was just a significant Cloudflare internet outage also.

Have you tried the “export” feature for a more detailed report?

Here are the logs showing the requests done over the course of 3 days. But still no usage has shown up, even before the Cloudflare issue happened today. I am still able to see the grey bars for no usage in the period. Exports and clicking into the Responses and Chat Completions graph shows no data either.

The reason why there are delays and symptoms and pervasive issues from an early decision in OpenAI history - every call is sent to Stripe, and they do the accounting. One might see this by the amount of granularity in Enterprise monthly billing statements.

It could be worse (or connected to overall a bad pattern) - see this person with a completely-corrupted usage page and admin billing API - still not addressed by OpenAI

Interesting, this sounds similar to my case. That is a little frustrating as I will have to find another way to monitor usage, I can’t just rely on that budget number.
